Summary:
Receives and responds to consumer calls for health care assistance using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Work Schedule: Part Time Flex
Responsibilities:
Elicits questions, concerns, and information from caller to assess symptoms, determine acuity, identify appropriate algorithm/protocol, and develop patient care plan.
Provides professional advice, education, and options based on assessment, established algorithm/protocol, and clinical judgment. When appropriate, contacts appropriate emergency response services.
Provides referrals to healthcare providers and community resources when appropriate, including locations, hours, and contact information. Assists caller with scheduling appointments at referral sources when appropriate.
Documents calls, responses, and referrals. Performs follow up calls to evaluate effectiveness of care and need for additional care.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program.
Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
Minimum Experience: 2 years of nursing experience.
ADDITIONAL POSITION LEVEL CREDENTIAL INFORMATION: Multi-state RN license required upon hire. * BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

The pay range for this position is: $33.08 – $51.27 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant’s relevant experience.
